Welcome to Caloundra Fishing World! An independently owned and operated local business conveniently located in Caloundra, adjacent to the beautiful Pumicestone Passage on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Caloundra Fishing World is owned by David Granville (Granny) and Andrew Orr (Orry) who have been fishing mates for over 45 years. Sunshine Coast locals themselves these two mates live and breathe all forms of fishing so are perfectly positioned to pass on their years of local fishing knowledge to their customers.
Caloundra Fishing World stocks fishing tackle from all the major suppliers to suit anglers of all skill levels. It doesn’t matter if you are a holiday maker looking for some affordable combos to entertain the kids, or the most seasoned angler chasing the best gear money can buy they have you covered.
Quality bait is still one of the most important parts of a good tackle shop and Caloundra Fishing World prides itself on sourcing the best bait available. With two deliveries a week from SeaQueen and Tweed Bait as well as having their own beach wormer, you won’t find better bait on the Sunshine Coast.
Caloundra Fishing World also offer rod and reel repairs. As Orry is a professional rod builder he does all the rod repairs in house and our local reel repairer has a great reputation for quality work and fast turnaround.

The shop opens daily at 7:00 AM, closing at 5:00 PM Monday through Saturday, and at 3:00 PM on Sundays.

Granny
Dave (AKA Granny)
With a super keen fisherman for a Dad it was no surprise that Dave had a fishing rod in his hand at a very early age. His Dad Ron taught him to fish for whiting, bream and flathead in the estuary and tailor and dart in the surf.
Orry
Andy (AKA Orry)
Like Granny it was Andy’s dad Geoff that ensured that he had a rod in his hand at a early age. In fact Geoff and Dave’s father Ron were fishing mates and competed against each other in there respective SQAFCA clubs, Geoff with Victory and Ron with Shell.
Lure Of The Week
Caloundra Fishing World is home of Lure of the Week. Granny and Orry started their fishing tackle retail presence online as Rockstar Tackle. To gain some online traction they started a weekly post every Friday on TikTok called Lure of the Week. This weekly unsolicited lure review quickly grew in popularity and continues to this day, more than three years on. So if you see Rockstar Tackle on TikTok or Instagram it is Granny and Orry. Now the focus is on the bricks and mortar store in Caloundra but Lure of the Week continues every Friday on all social platforms.
Fishing photography – a passion that never dies
Unfortunately he doesn’t have much time for it these days but Dave was a highly respected photographer and his images graced the pages of fishing magazines and websites all over the world. While Caloundra Fishing World takes priority these days the passion doesn’t die and his eye for photography is still there. The mobile phone has certainly taken the place of the digital SLR in many cases but when the time permits Dave will continue to put this talent to good use.

Where Are We
Caloundra Fishing World is located at 7-9 Tay Ave Caloundra. Between Caloundra’s main street (Bulcock St) and the iconic Boardwalk. There is two hour free parking right in front of the shop or if those spots are taken there is customer parking at the rear of the shop which can be accessed via Maloja Ave. The shop is within walking distance of many of the major hotels as well as the Big 4 Holiday Park Caloundra.
